RAM Recall Affects Pickup Trucks

Here at Superior Chrysler Center, conveniently located at 1318 Ogden Avenue in Superior, WI, we believe our primary duty as an auto retailer is keeping all of our customers in the Duluth, Hermantown, Cloquet and Proctor areas safe on the roads. And that means doing our best to inform you of recalls that will affect any of the autos on offer in our lineup of new RAM cars and trucks.

Recently, we've heard that the brand will be issuing a recall for RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 pickup trucks worldwide, with the units in question being produced between Sept. 9, 2012 and March 5, 2013. The trucks will need a software upgrade that the technicians in our RAM service center can provide, and the maintenance will of course be performed free of charge.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says, "In the affected vehicles, the turn signal indicator may not flash at a double rate to give a notification to the driver of a turn signal malfunction. Without a warning that the turn signal is malfunctioning, the driver would continue to use the vehicle, unaware that other drivers on the road are not being notified that the vehicle is turning, increasing the risk of a crash."1
